On the 30th of September 2021, Samson Abwao won the title of Africa’s Ultimate storyteller, ending a two year streak by Zimbabwe to crown Kenya as the home of Africa’s Storytelling Champion.
In the final, Samson demonstrated in a rich story how Africa is rich in culture and heritage. However, communities that are true to their culture are often treated as backward and many try to take advantage of them. He painted a story of how greed and cultural prejudice led him to utter financial loss and a good laugh at himself.
Samson is a popular radio personality and a familiar voice on Kenyan airwaves.
