Why did you enter this storytelling contest?
The desire to help others heal through my life story.
What does storytelling mean to you?
Storytelling is an opportunity to let someone have a glimpse into my life through my lips. An ultimate African way of carrying our lives from one generation to another just like it was done by our forefathers sitting around a fire many years ago.
Why did you tell this story?
I am a Healer and one of the most important aspects of healing is acknowledging the pain one is trying to heal. The moment which I shared was one of the stepping stones which led me to acknowledging my traumas for what they were which subsequently became a step towards healing.
