There is nothing that can measure up to a mother’s love. A love that is gentle, kind, forgiving, and encouraging. Zewande saw how far her mother’s love can go for him and his siblings one eventful night. The night that will replay in their minds over and over again, like a paid live show. Regardless of the trauma that he faced that night. He dared to evoke those emotions and share his story during the 2020 Africas Ultimate Storyteller Contest. Sharing how visual his mom’s love was displayed that night.
APPRECIATING EFFORTS
We all need people to live. No matter how much we try to convince ourselves that we do not. I am because you are. You are because I am. Together we are one. The community was not obligated to support the family. They could have chosen to stay and not help when they shouted help. But they chose to respond and come in large numbers to save the family.
When asked what storytelling meant to him, he said:
“My ability to tell stories defines me as a person. It is the reason for most of my decisions when it comes to my career.”
Since the contest, Zewande published a book titled CHILDREN OF GHOSTS
